Hair transplantation is done only with the patient’s own follicles. For hair transplantation, we extract follicles from donor regions with healthy and dense hair and transplant them to target regions with missing hair. With that respect, the back of the head (the nape) is accepted as the part where the most dense and healthy hair are located. As a result, transplanting the follicles from the back of the head to the part where the hair is sparse or missing is one of the most efficient methods. For years different methods and techniques were researched for hair transplantation. But according to latest technology and studies experts discussed FUT and FUE methods and decided FUE as the most effective method. FUT was not preferred because the entire tissue had to be dissected along with the follicles and transplanted as whole. This caused clearly visible scars. Also, the donor region permanently lost the ability to renew taken follicles. Because of all these disadvantages, FUT method was abandoned and FUE was continuously improved instead.
With FUE method, follicles are extracted from the back of the head with a punch tool called micromotor and transplanted to the target region. In an average session, 1.000 to 1.500 follicles could be transplanted. Even though session length differs depending on where the transplantation is applied to, it takes 7-8 hours on average. One of the most important things here is that not to harm the follicles which are alive during the extraction. After being extracted with the punch, the follicles are sorted out and the healthy ones are used for transplantation. Designation of forehead region opening, hair line and hair growth direction must be calculated perfectly and applied professionally. Once the operation is completed, our patients can return to their homes. But they must take some precautions. They must avoid sun, wind and cold air and rest indoors. After the operation, the body pumps more blood to the head to accelerate renewal process. This causes rashes and scabs. This is natural and nothing to be concerned about. As the skin refreshes and patient continues to wash the head, these rashes and scabs go away. 10-15 days after the operation all the hair fall out. Renewal of the transplanted follicles take 6 months and complete restoration of your hair takes approximately 1 year.
